Major Moscow's Assaults Disrupt Electricity Across Kyiv

Energy infrastructure under attack in the region
The country's energy systems have faced increased attacks in recent weeks

Overnight, Russian aerial assaults have led to blackouts in large parts of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were injured while residents in eastern neighborhoods were experienced blackouts and dealt with problems to water supplies, as stated by local authorities.

At the same time, a minor was fatally injured in a separate aerial attack in the southeastern region in the country's south-east, as reported by regional authorities.

Moscow has escalated assaults on power infrastructure over recent weeks, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "substantial measures" from partner nations to increase pressure on Moscow.

"What's needed is not window dressing but strong steps - from the US, the EU and the G7 - in delivering air defence systems and enforcing sanctions," mentioned in a social media post.

Officials stated that 450 drones and more than 30 projectiles targeted Ukraine's energy infrastructure, labeling such strikes as "strategic and deliberate" and against "essential services" as winter approaches.

The energy minister said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and technical staff were striving to fix the damage.

A series of attacks struck power facilities and apartment buildings in the capital.

Five out of the nine people injured in the strikes on the capital have been transported for medical care, per statements from local officials.

Area administrators said the urban area endured intense attacks during nighttime hours. A minor died and three other people were hurt.

The attacks follow periods of air raids in the territory, portions of which remain under the control of Moscow's military.

The whole nation is in a state of readiness for advanced weapon attacks, which are tougher to spot.

Government officials told the media that Moscow was intentionally trying to damage the electrical infrastructure, with attacks already impacting energy systems.

He said energy workers and officials were bracing for additional strikes.
